TECH CCR Technical Diver Training Overview

Technical Diver Training Overview

Having trained divers from all over the world and reviewed many different teaching methods I have decided to offer more personally based training programs for individuals looking at gaining technical diver and instructor certifications.

It is evident that people learn in many different ways some enjoy the learning experience of being in a group, being driven forward by a group’s success, others simply benefit from individual attention that is provided only for limited periods in group training due to logistics. For some, mastering the techniques and theory required to execute technical wreck, cave and rebreather dives safely simply doesn’t happen overnight.

The Aim:

  • To produce divers that are more than capable of diving within their certification levels
  • To provide training at a pace that suits the individual
  • To go far beyond the minimum standards and provide additional days training if required.

Mathew Partridge Key steps to successful diver training:

Step 1-Goals:

Because everybody is different, understanding an individuals dreams and aspirations is one of the most important aspects in forming a 'game plan' for the future. Working as a team both trainer and student must commit to a structured set of goals. By setting clear targets it's easy to review progress.
  • Step 2-Simplicity:

Clarity is always king, understanding and Improvements come through laying down a clear structure from the beginning and following a game plan. All technique needs to be introduced gradually by the instructor, too much and paralysis through analysis will be the inevitable result. Technical diving is complex and requires extensive overall knowledge but the key is breaking the skills sets down into manageable sessions.
  • Step 3-Stimulate:

Because real improvement is a slow process as the body and mind are reprogrammed - it’s important to make practice and learning fun and rewarding. Practice should be varied and stimulating otherwise interest will quickly wain. Work on all aspects of your diving, buoyancy and trim, skills sets, ascents, rescue and not to forget the theory, all need work and practice regularly. Give yourself rewards for small successes. As the old saying goes, success is built on success. So make yourself feel good about learning.
  • Step 4-Complete:

I've already mentioned that I believe improving your diving is a holistic process. These days few realize a team diving concept aids success including, personal trainers, nutritionists, equipment tech’s there can be little doubt that improvement comes from nurturing every part of our being. I have always believed any weakness be it physical or mental needs to be dealt with in a proactive manner applied the KISS principle. Remember this

“Reward is directly proportional to the quality and effort put in by each individual”:

Candidates choosing this method of training are rest assured that they will receive a personal learning experience that gets results.

As all applicants have different requirements I would strongly recommend you contact us and we will happily provide some options and indicate all the costs once we have an overview of you personal goals.

    Your part:

“It takes two to Tango”, Therefore all individuals looking at taking training with me must show a readiness to learn. This includes undergoing some pre-course study prior to arrival and ensuring they have a reasonable level of dive fitness. I am always happy to provide a list of useful study tools. Technical diving requires awareness, a good positive attitude and discipline to become successful in your goals.
